Why Proximity?
Earlier warnings. Because of their weight-reliant nature, typical sensor pads have a slower response time to a patient rising from bed or chair. The sensor will not detect a patient's exit until their weight is completely removed from the pad, which is usually placed beneath the patient's bottom. Unlike traditional sensor pads, the Proximity Sensor does not rely on a patient's weight to trigger the alarm and can be placed behind the patient's shoulders for earlier warning. This sensor relies only on the patient's proximity, or closeness, to the sensor. This means earlier warnings for patients at risk of falling.
More accurate warnings: The Proximity Sensor works by detecting the minute electrical force surrounding the body, allowing a patient to move around in bed or chair without triggering a false alarm. Fewer false alarms means saved time for the caregiver.
Use with ANY patient: With no weight restrictions, the Proximity Sensor can be used with ANY patient, even the lightest.
Use on ANY surface: Proximity sensing technology allows the sensor to be used on ANY surface even on air mattresses, giving one sensor a larger range of use. It can even be trimmed to fit any size bed or chair.
Works with your current alarm: An adaptor cable allows the Proximity Sensor to be used with any alarm, even with your existing alarm so you don't have to buy a replacement.
