IHS Wins IFSA Award - "Most innovative use of mobile technology". At the 4th annual Irish Field Service Awards held on Friday March 2nd, 2012, in the Guinness Storehouse, IHS Ltd. win the award for: "Most innovative use of mobile technology award". 01.10.2011 *NEW Product* Chiltern Tilt In Space Shower Chair The AquaMaster Tilt in Space Shower Chair is the newest addition to the range. It has been developed in conjunction with healthcare professionals to create a chair which provides comfort and security for the user combined with ease of use. It provides a tilting angle of 0 to 30 degrees with an additional 10 degrees provided by the ergonomic angled backrest. The chair boasts an electrostatically coated stainless steel frame which provides a durable, corrosion resistant finish and a dual gas spring assembly which allows smooth operation via a single rear mounted control handle. It is available in two standard widths, 18" and 21" complete with an extensive range of seat, armrest, footrest and backrest padding configurations which provide a safe, user specific chair. It can be used in basic care or moderate care situations. In addition to the Alternating Therapy Mode, this product provides a Static Mode to stabilize the mattress pressure to facilitate nursing care, dressing changes and patient repositioning. The Low Air Loss feature in the mattress provides adequate ventilation and moisture control beneath the patient. The mattress cover is waterproof and vapor permeable, further reducing heat and moisture. The cover is also made of a low-friction material reducing shear force. Please click the Web Shop link above or click here: IHS Web Shop 01.03.2011 New Proximity Sensor We are delighted to announce the release of our revolutionary new fall alarm sensor for beds and chairs that is based on proximity, not pressure. Unlike most fall alarm sensors that require weight to operate, this new sensor works on the closeness of the patient. This means it can be used on patients of any weight, on air mattresses, and even under the shoulders of a patient sitting up in bed. The benefit is that the sensor will trigger the alarm before the patient rises, as opposed to traditional sensor pads which do not trigger an alarm until the patient is up. Paul Cullen, Managing Director said of the new sensor pads, "This is a major breakthrough and solves a number of problems facilities have faced in deploying effective fall alarms that work before the patient is up and moving. Because weight and pressure are not required to operate the sensor, it offers earlier warning to caregivers by placing under the patient's shoulders in bed or on the back of a chair. This gives caregivers more time to reach the patient and helps reduce risk of a potential fall." The sensor is available in a short stay 30-day version using Tyvek™, which is highly durable and very thin, or a long-term-use version of Mylar™, which is easily cleaned and sanitized. The sensor comes with a separate module and a selection of cables, enabling it to work with a variety of fall alarms.
